Boat rental apps and sites: who rents what, and what they charge
Boat rental websites offer different arrangements: individual rentals through marketplaces, membership access through clubs, or yacht charters. Boatsetter and GetMyBoat offer rentals with or without captains; club membership is a different service from booking one trip.

Boatsetter and GetMyBoat merger
Boatsetter and GetMyBoat announced their merger and the formation of a combined entity on Dec 18, 2025. Refresh Miami reported in December 2025 that both rental platforms continued business as usual for now.
The announcement does not mean you should treat separate listings as having identical terms. Read Boatsetter vs GetMyBoat after the merger, and confirm the charges and policies attached to the booking you choose.

Questions people ask
Note AWhich boat rental app should I choose?
Start with the service you need: a captained rental, a self-drive rental, club access, or a yacht charter. Boatsetter, GetMyBoat, and Click&Boat offer captain choices; The Moorings offers bareboat and crewed charters.
Note BWhat is peer-to-peer boat rental?
Boatsetter offers peer-to-peer rentals alongside commercial rentals. Ask which provider handles your booking and which cancellation and insurance terms apply.
Note CIs boat sharing the same as a boat club?
Freedom Boat Club and Carefree Boat Club provide boat access through membership rather than an individual marketplace booking. Compare Freedom and Carefree membership arrangements before choosing that model.
